The Center Point Service Model

Our multi-faceted, trans-disciplinary approach is derived from a fundamental philosophical belief that services should be focused on the whole person--not merely on removing the most obvious, or presenting symptoms.

At Center Point we view addiction as a bio-psycho-social-spiritual disorder. Our treatment and rehabilitation programs employ a combination of cognitive, behavioral, clinical-therapeutic, peer support, family and spiritual interventions that promote pro-social adaptation leading to self-sufficiency and productivity. These interventions are integrated into a treatment plan individually tailored for each participant.

Center Point offers a comprehensive continuum of rehabilitative programs and services for our clients.

These include:

Residential treatment services for pregnant and post-partum women and their children, residential programs for male and female adults, and for adolescents, and residential community corrections services for female offenders and their children;

Non-residential services including outpatient treatment, and continuing care and aftercare;

Specialized services including primary health care and mental health services; vocational rehabilitation services (both to support treatment and "dependency to sufficiency" Welfare-to-Work employment programs); housing services; and education, training and consulting services for the general public, private companies, and public agencies; physical examinations, testing for infectious diseases (i.e., TB, hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, etc.) and follow-up medical services as indicated; HIV/AIDS counseling and education; psychological and/or psychiatric evaluation and counseling; psychosocial counseling; drug and alcohol treatment and education; tutoring for high school equivalency testing (i.e., GED); comprehensive vocational services including assessment, job readiness skills, job training, job placement and job retention counseling; social skills training; parenting skills training with an emphasis on child development education and responsible parenthood for men; gender-specific issue groups; cultural awareness groups and comprehensive continuing care and aftercare (i.e., relapse prevention services), including group and individual counseling, peer counseling and support activities, volunteer service in the community, and long-term transitional housing;

Housing Services - Under a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Center Point has recently implemented the comprehensive METT project to assist TANF (i.e., Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) eligible and other hard-to-place clients transition successfully from Welfare-to-Work. While vocational services have always been an integral part of Center Point's treatment continuum, and the cornerstone of re-entry services, this new program expands our vocational services from a component of treatment into a major program in its own right. The purpose of this project is to demonstrate innovative ways in which difficult-to-employ individuals can be transitioned from welfare dependence to employment.
