Non-residential programs and services provide a low-cost alternative to residential treatment for individuals with stable support networks. These services can also be used as an "extended care" program for persons coming out of short-term inpatient or residential programs. The flexibility of non-residential services enables Center Point to customize therapeutic and support services to each participant's individual, assessed needs and to provide these services in the least restrictive environment required to achieve treatment objectives.
Outpatient Services
Outpatient services offer low-cost alternatives to residential treatment for individuals with stable support networks. Outpatient counseling is an extremely versatile approach. It is also ideal for clients in the aftercare phase of treatment, and offers immediate services to individuals and families in crisis. Services are offered in individual, group, or family sessions. The duration of treatment varies based on problem severity.
Outpatient services are available in three forms:
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP); General Outpatient Program (GOP); and Family Support. In addition, Center Point has recently added an Adolescent Outpatient Program for juvenile offenders referred through the Marin County Juvenile Drug Court.
Family Support Services
Family reunification is a primary focus at Center Point. In addition to serving individual clients, we provide services for families and significant others.
General Outpatient Services (GOP)
GOP is designed for clients who are relatively stable but who can benefit from individual and/or group counseling interventions on a frequency schedule that matches their clinical need.
Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP)
IOP serves individuals who require an intensive, structured program. Well-suited for individuals who work, services are provided during the evening. Operating from a cognitive-based philosophy, IOP is designed to modify negative thought and behavioral patterns that contribute to substance abuse and related problems. A 16-week long (six hours per week) program offers a wide range of didactic and experiential learning activities combined with counseling designed to decrease the participant's dependence and the negative behavior patterns typically associated with addictive disorders.
