CASE MANAGER/ OUTREACH SPECIALIST (AUSTIN, TX)

The part-time (16 hours a week) Veteran Case Manager/Outreach Specialist is responsible for the initial contact, engagement and recruitment of veterans in Bell, Travis, and Williamson counties, Texas, for mentally health counseling program funded by the Texas Veteran Commission. The Case Manager/Outreach Specialist will provide information and referral to veterans and their families about the counseling available through the program and will work with veteran participants to improve any barriers to their well-being.
Primary Duties:

  • Provides outreach to veterans, their families, community based organizations and employers to provide information about available services and provide referrals for additional needed services.
  • Identifies potential participants through outreach efforts at a broad range of locations frequented by at-risk veterans or family members and through outreach to community services organizations.
  • Conducts screening and eligibility review for interested applicants. Develops an Individual Service Plan with each enrollee which addresses needed resources.
  • Provides referrals for emergency services.
  • Provides veterans with case management services to ensure identified needs are met.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in compliance with the requirements of the funder and Center Point

Position Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of full time experience as a case manager for vulnerable populations, preferably veterans, and a minimum of 60 hours of college courses in pursuit of a degree in social work, psychology, counseling or human services.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance.

Required licenses or certifications:

  • Driver's License
  • Of veteran, copy of DD214

 LICENSED CLINICIAN/ COUNSELOR (AUSTIN, TX)

Join Texas Center Point in providing mental health services for veterans and their families; participate in changing the lives of those who have served our country; and become a member of the dynamic Texas Center Point Veteran’s Services team. The program is funded by Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veteran’s Assistance.
The ideal candidate has experience providing mental health counseling and trauma services to diverse populations, to include veterans.
Primary Duties of Full Time Licensed Clinician/Counselor:

  • Provide counseling services for veterans, family members or a surviving spouse who are experiencing mental health disorders such as PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma, depression, anxiety, alcohol and/or drug abuse.
  • Provide individual and family counseling services to address difficulties reintegrating into community life; family discord; parenting and marital problems.
  • Provide specialized counseling services that incorporate the unique nature of individual circumstances, military culture, combat experience and adjustment to civilian life.
  • Provides referrals for additional mental health services or substance use disorder services.
  • Works with Texas Center Point Case Manager to facilitate referrals to additional community resources.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and Center Point requirements.
  • Travel to service locations in the three counties served by the grant – Bell, Travis, Williamson counties.

Position Qualifications:

  • Current valid license as a professional counselor, social worker or therapist.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in providing gender responsive and culturally competent trauma and family clinical services.
  • Familiarity with military culture.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of experience
